Has anybody got it yet, I had a bit of a read whilst in the supermarket but only had $5 on me. It features the typhoon again and their time was I believe 14.6 compared with the GT's 14.2...
Wheels said the Typhoon is the better performance car. Unless you are a dedicated V8 driver .Wait until Holden turbos the new 190 v6. It's rumoured to be in testing.
Forget the times: read the articles and you'll see they couldn't launch the cars because of the amount of rubber on the track from a previous drag meet. Inconclusion they rank the Fords 1 and 2 (with a win to the F6 coz of in-gear acceleration times) and the HSV 3rd. Smile!
They seemed to really be impressed with the F6. The times were nothing to get excited over but the track was crap and as most BA owners will attest to, the cars go harder once theyve run in and loosened up.
I also got my issue of SPEED in the mail and they were praising the Typhoon as well!!! They themselves pointed out how shocking this was considering its a mag dedicated to Jap turbo terrors and excludes traditional Aussie cars.
Also, for those that cant be fukd paying out for a whole mag just to read 1 article, I suggest paying a visit to the newsagents for a read, or even better, goto BORDERS.
:)

I wasn't saying the times were bad, I didn't have time to read it in the shop so that's all I had a peak at
So you recommend it then? I might pick it up before work then
I always like Wheels articles, just think the journo's are better than Motor in general. Yep, it 's a good read.
Loved the article with the F6, R34 Skyline and E49 Charger....the Charger was certainly an amazing beast in its day. I remember seeing a photo of the engine (I think it was while the car was on a dyno from memory, but can't be sure) with the headers glowing bright red. Keeping those 3 S/D webbers in tune would have been a nightmare .... I had two on my old twin-cam Escort and they needed adjustments about every two weeks!
And if your into Ferraris, Robbo reckons the F430 is the best car he has EVER driven. Bar none. Looks like the Gallardo is now relegated to second place.......
1/4 mile times still mean you get over the 1/4 mile faster from stand still, hence which ever car gets over first, is faster. I do beleive that the Typhoon will go better though, and I'm supprised the Clubsport with the new LS2 wasn't any quicker than the GT at all.

my main concern with wheels is that this is the second year in a row that they hand out a HSV calendar....if only it was winter i could use it to start a fire.
