hahaha,, you don't know what you're missing. Just go earlier and you'll get your testdrive.

When i asked for a test drive of an XR8 at a certain dealer in the central west of NSW i was told that i couldnt because they didnt want to get too many k's on the clock. I politely left.

I drove one yesterday BLOODY AWESOME!! have driven a number of turbos and while they are quick and get from A to B with a mininum of fuss they dont give you the same rush the 8 does.

something about looking over that bulge and hearing the exhaust note at full noise.

i would love to drive one but since i wouldn't be able to keep it i don't want to. going from a 260kw to 182kw hmmmm might save the moment for when i buy one!!

I know how you felt. I took my XR8 for a test drive before I picked it up and just couldn't wait to get the thing in my hands. Well know that I have got it, I do nit regret it one bit. It awesome.

As 61sg said "something about looking over the buldge and hearing the exhaust at full noise."

That dealer is probably full of shit then. Surely they would be able to roll back the value of a demo by $1000 or whatever to ensure they dont lose money on the car. I bet my left nut the sales guys use it to get their lunches.

Thats if it is in fact a demo. I know that my local dealer can't get a demo XR6T or an xr8 so test drives are done in customer cars before delivery, and thats why they don't want to put to many km on them...

I know I'd be very unhappy if my new car had been test driven by customers.....

The 3 Ford dealers I've dealt with over the years would NOT use a customers car for a demo drive!.... Even informed me that is not only their own policy, but Ford's policy!
