Newspapers (shakes head)

I read an article in this mornings paper.

Human remains were found in bushland off the Great Western Highway.

The remains were found in two garbage bags a short distance off Hepburn Rd.

Police comfirmed the discovery was being treated as suspicious.

No sh*t !

I was thinking it might have been a suicide! or that human remains are naturally found growing in garbage bags in the bush.

It really would be funny if it weren't so serious.

What pisses me off a great deal in the media, is there incessant use of the word "alledgedly". I mean, for f*$#& 's sake, if they did it, they DID IT!!!

Watch the news tonight - any mention of a crime, that has not been convicted yet, is prefaced by the term ALLEDGED - even if the criminal has confessed!

I can only conclude that no crimes are ever committed until AFTER a court trial has concluded!

A person is innocent til a court finds em guilty
Thats a really important part of the legal and democratic system, only a court can find you guilty.

so even if they walk into the cop station carrying the severed head and knife, it is "Allegedly" until the Judge says guilty.

If the telly says he IS a murderer, before the court case, they can cause a mis-trial and cop all sorts of legal crapor even be sued. (plus the crim walks ..all coz they didnt say "alleged')

So even the Pt arthur gunman was "alleged" to have shot people
til the court said so.

but im not a lawyer, so i could be wrong.

Actually if you're not a lawyer then you've probably got a better chance of being right!

What do you call 20 lawyers at the bottom of Sydney Harbour?

A good start.

I was reading another in todays paper about two bodies. They found pieces of a woman and a child in a wheelie bin.

It didn't mention that the Police are treating this one as suspicious.

Obviously an open and shut case.

What is this world coming too?
