Has anyone noticed that from about 1999 Ford have greatly improved the style of wheels fitted to Falcons, particularly XR's and up.
For example the ED-EL XR's came with fairly un-inspiring wheels.
However AUII and BA wheels accross the range - but especially XR's have
been fantastic. I think Ford Oz has really caught up to and surpassed Holden in this area in the last five years. My top 5 favotire wheels that have come out on Falcons in no particular order are:
1. AUII XR & BA XR
2. EBGT
3. SVO (Not really facotry - but who cares)
4. T3 TS50
5. Twelve slotters (Not factory at all but look great on X series)
On the X Series twelve slotters or SVO's look mad!
On the EB-ED EBGT rims look great.
On the EL onwards I reckon AUII XR rims look fantastic.
On BA there hasn't been too much individualism yet, so its hard to say.
It's great that Ford Oz are finally making some great looking rims as these will trickle down to the guys doing up their GLi's and Futuras. The Holden boys have had nice rims for a while, and have been making their VN-VS look good with HSV rims. Im starting to see some nice looking EF's etc. going around with nice AUII XR rims and just a bit lowered - looks great!
PS. Five spoke definately looks the goods on late model cars!

I agree about the HSV wheels on VN's etc, theyve had it too good for too long.
I saw a BA Fairlane, black with dark tint and AU2 XR mags a few days back, and it looked very, very nice.
Tickford have some great rim designs which suit everything from EF/L-BA (i think so anyway).
Probably one of the very best and most popular wheel designs Ford have come up with would be EL GT wheels, or EL XR8 wheels. Id be very happy with either on the EF.
I agree, Ford have really lifted their game in this area.
My favourite rims are:
BA range - Favourite is the GT rim. A lot of people don't seem to like them but I think they kick arse. All the XR rims look good too.
AU range - Favourite is AU2 XR 17". AU1 17" rims and 5 spoke T series 18" look good too.
E series - Favourite is the EF/EL XR 16". EL GT, EB XR 15" and ED XR 15" look good too.
Classics - The 12 slotter and 15" Globe. Can't go wrong.
There's been some shockers as well:
BA range - Just can't warm to the GT-P rim. (me puts on flame proof suit). Futura and Fairmont rims aren't much chop.
AU range - AU1 XR 16" multispokes. The ugliest, poxiest wheels Ford have ever put on a car. I once asked a salesman if that's a deliberate ploy to make people spend more to option up the decent rims. His reply was unprintable!!
E series - EB and ED Ghia only because they were a prick to keep clean.
Classics - No fugglies here, I love old school stuff.
