I know must people consider adelaide to way behind in the times, but does anyone else have fixed Noise cameras, similar to red light cameras --- but booking you for excess noise instead. (above 90 db)
they will start using them on our roads soon, and say they are meant for trucks but could be used for booking all traffic in the future , as my car is within the legal limit this will not bother me , and i do hate the noisy exhaust brakes, but i still see it as another form of revanue raising which reaaaly pisses me off big time

Hmm never heard of them before mate. If its a stationary camera that goes off when it hears a loud noise id like to know how they pin point which car made it!

Doesn't bother me most Fords are very quiet when they rev anyway so sucked in to all the ricer bastards with there rice can exhausts. Like the moron around the corner from me with a Nissan EXA GRRRRRR That thing sets my alarm off with it's loud arse droan...
If I ever get a loud car you can bet I'll have a second exhaust in the shed and then take it to court. BWAHahahahahaha.

LOL, sounds like fun to me.... if someone you don't like someone just wait for them to drive past then set of a cap gun next to the 'camera'... revenge is sweet!
The noise test need sot be set up a standard way so I think they would have trouble measuring it accurately at the appropriate RPM for each individual car.

There are some noise cameras up here in Sydney on oxford street around darlinghurst, apparently they are using the cameras as a trial for intersection accidents - if there is a loud noise the camera will save a few seconds before and a few seconds after the accident, or something like that.
