Got a phone call from my cousin last night saying that he has purchased two Series III XR8 utes from Brad Garlick Ford.
He ordered two black utes with the 17 inch rims, Momo steering wheel and gear knob, air, cabin tidy and the 30kW upgrade.
Now, your wondering what the 30kW upgrade is. Apparently Garlick Ford has a specialist mechanic who can create some more power out of the 200kW 5.0. From what my cousin told me there is a major change in the whole exhaust system and some other details he has forgotten. Will find out next couple of weeks. He also is getting the car lowered another inch. It should look cool lowered. Nothing like putting a load in the back of my ute to sit the car closer to terra firma.
I will post further info and pics later.
The reason he went with the XR was because
a) Commodores suck.
b) Commodore drivers suck so I didn't want my cousin to become one of those.
c) I had four references of GEN III owners who have had nothing but problems.
d) The XR8 was more cost effective.
e)He can join Fordforums.
f) Better cabin
g) the XR he test drove really bagged up the rears much to his satisfaction.

I just found out that he will be fitting a set of polished 18's on the cars. This car will sit seriously low on the road.
