confused Now for some more

Deck is in guys but i have 3 other problems:

1. HOw the **** do i get 4 gauge power cable through the ef firewall???

2. How the **** do i manage to get the speaker wire through the rubber door grommet when the other side is sealed i.e cant pass the wire through it.

3. as i have front splits the crossover will be mounted in the door and the tweeters replacing the factory ones in the factory location. As the factory front speaker and tweeter run off the same cable orange with green stripe aand orange with black stripe. Would it work if i connect the factory speaker wires in the door to the +- of the tweeter and then connect the tweeter wires to the stock ones in the dash!! Would this work guys???

Re: Now for some more

1. You should be able to fit it through the clutch cable hole (never did this on an EF though)

2. With great difficulty. Not sure what you mean when you say the other side is sealed???

3. You lost me here

A 16mm Suttons holesaw (not the elcheapo holesaws) pointed at the firewall near the brake booster (with an appropriate grommet added) will give you scope for lots of wiring to be added through the firewall.
That location can be accessed fairly easily inside the car by removing the instrument cluster. You can then direct wires to wherever you want them to go.

Drill a 2mm 'explorer' hole first, (below the plenum chamber of course) and 'slightly above' the centre line of the brake booster. Then use a stiff wire to find out where it is on the inside.
If you need more wiring space through the firewall go up to 19/21mm or (my preference) drill a second hole next to the first one.

As a general principle I find two smaller holes usually works out better than one large one if you need the volume, but it's a matter of personal preference.

A 14mm holesaw (again with grommets) works fine for doors, pillars, boot panel, floor, etc. for most wiring that needs to be added.

Clean up the cut edges with a file and touch up with some paint finishes the holes off nicely and delays rust.

Re: Now for some more

as said above i was gonna say why not just drill a new hole in teh firewall. unfortunatley there arent any "spare" grommeted holes in teh firewall for you to use. hence why my amp cable goes through the clutch cable hole. if i ever decide to go manual ill have to do something else...

Re: Now for some more

you should be able to fit a few cables through the existing hole near the brake booster. You'll need to take the booster off (or move it out of the way at least), and take off the kick panel on the right hand side of the driver's footwell.

Re: Now for some more

Guys, remember that FPVWPNS car is a Manual as well. In a manual fiiting more cables through the clutch cable hole is not possible, as theres already a cable there taking up the bloody space!!!

So yeah.... Sorry to crash the party........ Also FPVWPN I can't help you here because i dont have a stereo yet so I can't be positive on where to feed the cable.
Ask Mustangnicko, NZ or Rollin or one of those guys (Anyone with a manual falc) cheers,

Re: Now for some more

Well in that case, drilling a new hole would be the go. You may also choose to run it through the quarter panel were the existing loom is..

Re: Now for some more

Being a futura, u have wiring going through the firewall behind the Cruise module for the cruise etc, why not punch a hole in that grommet and put the wire through there.
I imagine that'd be better then putting another hole in the firewall.

If i were u, i'd run the tweeters as they're sposed to be run.
chances are it wouldn't sound anywhere near as good otherwise.
