The best part of the two articles is they are both written by the same person.

Quote: "Holden VY Commodore

Holden's Commodore has dominated the sales charts for the past five years, but the updated VY model now faces the badge's toughest test yet in the shape of the new BA Falcon, which arrives on September 20."

Quote:"Ford BA Falcon

After the most drawn out launch program in Australian motoring history, the new Falcon is finally here. Does the car match the hype? You bet. In every respect, the new BA Falcon is light years ahead of the AU. It is also more than a match for the VY Commodore."

looking good.

just a reminder, NRMA are gentle in testing cars. So 0-100 in 6.4 sec for the XR6T in comparison to this:

http://www.mynrma.com.au/motoring/ca...ldenmona.shtml

means the XR6 IS BLOODY FAST!:)

They tested the XR6T in AUTO form!

The 6.4 seconds is with an AUTO! My god! This thing is fast!

Not only that, they got a 7.4 second 0-100 time for the XT!!!!! In either auto or manual form.

Now this car impressed me when i first heard it was going to have 210kw, it impressed when it came out with 240 and then impressed with a flat 6 for a first timer. Now u are telling me it runs 6.4 0-100 with auto and i think i am in dream world. This is magnificent, unbelievable, and i am lost for words on just how well this car is performing. Sounds like i need to start saving some money!!!!!

Series I VX SS was tested to do it in 6.4 - so with an extra 15kw, it can only match the SS?

Quote:
If you're into acceleration figures, the SS is well ahead with the potential to hit 100km/h in around 6.4 seconds compared with the Falcon's somewhat slower time of 7.4 seconds.
