By the looks of that you don't even own them,having to pay $90 a year rent just to say you like Rugby.

Maybe if they sold them outright more people may buy personalised plates.
For a reasonable cost of course.

I can have them for a one off fee of $50 and $470 annually. I think I'll keep the ones that came with the car.

I'd have ot agree that Qld number plates have gone over board compared to other states. Easily the most variety.

But I mean Brisbane plates? WTF?

Remember the old saying, Jamie: A fool and his money are soon parted. The RTA has realised there are many of those individuals out there and are making use of it. If people are happy to pay $470 on top of rego for 2 small painted sheets of metal then let them.

But I'm with you, Jamie. Standard issue sexy black on yellow plates for me!

About $310 for most combos and this includes choice of slimline and colours. $75 for an extra plate for trailers/bikeracks. Think up a long list of letters/numbers you like and call 131171. Rattle off your list and they will tell you yes or no, and you can buy using credit cards there and then. 1-2 weeks shipping and you're set.
