NZ Vehicle sales figures

Ford is still holding it but very close as at August:
1/Ford 7945
2/Holden 7711
3/Toyota 7614
4/Nissan 4506
5/Mitsi 3648
According to this the Mondeo has been a big seller in the 2.0 class but I don't have the figures .I helped out these figures by buying a new Ford Courier hehe.

I read somewhere that the Mondeo outsold the Falcon in August though still behind the Commodore.
If not it was still one of the three best selling cars.

To be honest Ratt i would have to look it up but during 2001 year Ford has been in front the most but Holden edged in a couple of times from memory. The new model Holden could be a problem tho if it takes off.Toyota has been the usual leader prior to 2000 but exchange rates have been favourable to Holden and Falcon lately.

OK according to Ford NZ public affairs manager Lisa Franklin ,Ford has a 320 unit lead over it's nearest competitor in the sales race this year. The laser is No1 in it's segment and the Mondeo outsold it's nearest rival by 157 units. The article never mentioned what the nearest rivals are.The mondeo leads the 2 litre medium car segment on a year to date basis and this is only a few months after it's launch.5 Mustangs have been sold.Ford Courier leads 2 wd segment and a fair bit of interest has been shown in the New Explorer which is due for release in mid Sept.It all sounds pretty Rosy but it is PR stuff.
