I would like some feedback on who uses what for courier services throughout Australia. Reason i ask is I have just purchased a crank and rod kit from the other side of the country and have been quoted $140 to freight the item. Thats more than what i paid for the lot.Does anyone know of someone who offers resonable freight costs for such items? thanx,russ

I allways use Ipec, but through the company i work for with good rates. They are reliable and quick to Cairns(NTH QLD). 4 days from Melbourne, 3 from Sydney and 2 days from Bris. 4-5 from Perth. For somthing as heavy as a crank, i would roughly use $1.00 per KG from most main cities with Ipec and a bit more from the other side of Aust.

I usually use Startrack Express. They are very cheap on the eastcoast, however they are not so cheap when the items are delivered from Perth. Even TNT was cheaper than Startrack Express for items leaving Perth.

I just had TNT freight a set of cast iron heads (46kg) from brisbane to Perth it cost me $155. When i rang them for a quote i said it weighed 52kg (guessed the weight) and they told me it would cost $175.
