Ermey had every right to speak out, and as much as I agree with his views in this case, Geico had every right to fire him. It's something a lot of people get confused about. They claim that their freedom of speech was infringed upon, but no one has incarcerated him for his view point. I don't know what Geico's political views are, and maybe they want to keep it that way and prefer to stay apolitical and not get involved in divisional politics. Now, if they turned around and hired a very vocal hard left loon and used them as a spokes person instead, then I'd have a hard spot with them.
