I prefer old cars, mainly seventies cars like Falcons, escorts and Toranas (yes Toranas).
I think they have more character and appeal, sure they dont have the creature comforts but theres nothin better than seeing and old classic cruisin around
I like the raw edge many older cars posess when properly modified but I like the refinement and handling of the newer cars. I like the prices of the older cars but i love the interiors on the new cars. I like the individuality of having a restored/modified old car but I love the reliability, fuel economy, handling, brakes and availability of parts for newer cars. I love the scope for modification on older cars but I love the fact newer cars dont really need it bar a set of nice wheels.
I love an XY GT....... they are brutal... so purposeful. Nothing says animal like a XY GT. No other car. Ever. What a weapon. I love them but dont think i could live with one. I would want to do everything in it. Play with it, modify it... sleep in it.. lol. You just cant do that to a GT.
I love the AU XR series. They look so different (luckily so different from the forte). They do everything so right. Stop, turn and go. They look tuff! Would have no dramas leaving it anywhere mostly(with an alarm).
Give me either and I would be smiling :)
PS: so many old cars are stinky bombs and so many new ones are tinny pieces of crap. You can't just say carte blanche "I love the old/new cars". It is just too subjective. I am more into a specific model. If Falcon had rack and pinion 20 years earlier then it may be a different kettle of fish.
I like both... old and new. But if I had to choose, I would go with an older car. There's just something about 50's 60's and 70's cars that really do it for me.

/ Coughs... XW GT... coughs.... No guess to what I pick...
ALTHOUGH i wouldnt mind new brakes and an airbag and chuck in some refinement... err im confused LOL :MUha:

I think old and new cars cannot be compared. I like both, though since i don't have spare cash for 2 cars i chose to have 1 late model car as an all rounder daily and weekender car.
I guess in our family we've always got relatively late model cars so thats where my trait of thinking has comr from.
If i had the spare cash wouldn't mind an XE 351 ESP or XF.

I like 80's and before for a cruise machine, and for a daily driver I'd really like to have something modern - must be wonderful to get in a car in the cold and turn on every electrical thingy and not worry if the car was going to conk out ......... oh, and it must also be lovely to have headlights which actually illuminated the road ahead, and leccy windows that work, and leccy mirrors that work, and a demister for windscreen and back screen that work, and not have tail lights blow weekly, and, oh, just the usual!
