Is anyone staying up to watch the ceremony? I'm going to try but I can just see that I'll fall asleep about half an hour into it.

I'm going to be up at 3:30am but I'll be getting ready to catch a plane so I'll end up missing all of the opening ceremony.... it goes for 8hrs!!!!

I just checked and it's on from 3:30am till 7:30 am on Seven. You had me worried for a minute, I don't think I could handle 8 hours of watching anything but Bathurst and maybe Playboy naked jelly wrestling.

I stand corrected Steve, maybe the broadcast included the replay in the 8 hour advertisement. Bring on the playboy naked jelly wrestling.

Maybe the opening goes for 8hrs but they are only going to show 4hrs of it. I heard only half the Australian olympic team is going to be there because of the heat and i goes for 8 hrs.... there is going to be a 90minute dance music thingy going on. Thats the other thing I heard.

Among them is DJ Tiesto, who will perform his DJ-set live in the Olympic Stadium in Athens for approximately 90 minutes. This will include new tracks, produced especially for the Opening Ceremony, and songs that have been tailored to compliment the spirit of the Ceremony.
