alright, I need to ask each of you a favor: When your car is almost empty of petrol, take it to nice quiet road. Grab a stopwatch and start counting once the wheels start to grip.
I want to know how would each car do till 100k/h. I'm so sick of the mags figures and I'd like to know the REAL life thing!
Can you do that tonight? Thanks everyone!
(my 92 v6 3litre verada done it in 14 seconds:)that's right.aaha,,mmmmhmm, but it's not too bad really on the road)
I thought I'd start with myself, now don't let me down ,ok?
remember to make sure the road is flat, or do it two ways and take the average.
I remember doing this in my old XY Fairmont a looong time ago.
Seems slow...and it is!
250 ci auto: about 11 seconds. (not necessarily empty tank, but I doubt it'd help much)

I knew the galant is a nice car,but didn't know it can go that fast(9 second is fast).
A friend of mine has 93 commodore, we tried it like 6 times, always getting 11 seconds. auto that is.
He wasn't happy cause he was so confident it can do as my brother's xr8!

I was actually suprised too - this was using the auto shifter manually (no tiptronic) and I found that as soon as you hit around 5700 RPM in 1s't it takes off with the same kick in the back feel as a V8.
But having said you will be lucky to crack 11 seconds now due to the fact that it has a misfire - and sometimes runs on five cylinders.:dead:
Hmmmm thats it next time i'm out on the road i'll time it. Can i time it with say 1/2 tank of fuel on board as opposed to nearly empty, seems my baby runs quicker with fuel.
JType, thats good going at 9 seconds, Galants aren't bad cars. My cousin has got the 1995 model V624 in manual goes pretty hard.
I'll try it out and let you guys know.

on the xr it nearly always spin if the tank is not full. when it does,it keeps spinning for >a second. Not sure how slow a full tank will make any car, but if you got a friend to time it for u,sit him(her) on the back seat to add some weight on the wheels.
my brother's xr got 6.8 seconds(with me on board),auto, idle start, 250 rear mags.
my cuz WRX got 7.24 seconds with a rev to 5000 and clutch slip.
