A couple of days ago the anti virus went off. It couldn't fix the virus so it deleted the message and I was left with the persons contact details. I emailed the guy to alert him to his problem, but got a server message saying the emial address didn't exist.
Question one how is this possible.
Tonight I get this email.
This virus has been found in our system, it has already gone to everyone in
your address book, it lies dormant for 14 days then destroys the hard drive,
please follow these instructions to destroy the virus and then pass this
message on to all in your address book.
1. Go to start, then to find or search.
2. In the 'search for files or folders' type in sulfnbk.exe this it the
virus
3. In the 'look in' make sure you are searching drive 'c'
4. hit the search or find button
5 If this file is in your c drive it shows up as an ugly black icon that
will have the name sulfnbk.exe DO NOT OPEN IT.
6 right click on the ugly black icon DO NOT LEFT CLICK! go down to delete
and left click to send it to the recycle bin, say yes.
7 Go to your desktop and open your recycle bin.
8 Either empty the recycle bin or find this file and delete again.
9 Go back and start this process again just to make sure that the file is
no longer found in you C drive Please do all this as soon as
possible
So I search for this file and sure enough it is there but hasn't been modified since the pc was new, mid june or so. Instead I get the norton to check it out and it says it is fine. Is someone playing with me?

That is what i thought they were trying to do to me, but I am confused. I checked it with nortons and it said the file was ok. So I have left it alone. As I said Norton deleted a message coming in so I thought I was safe then I got this message.
yeah me thinks it's a hoax as well, i got that file on my poota.
Lives in c:\windows\command
