Hey all,

Thought i'd let you know that a mate of mine recently drove the Barra XT (while I was overseas)...182kw, Auto with Sequential Shift.

Now my mate is an engineer and has done contract work for both Holden and Ford, on VY and BA. He's got a slight preference to the Holden and he prefers the styling etc, he himself drives a VX 'S'...

Now i haven't seen him so excited about a Ford product ever! He's is one who appreciates good engineering no matter who makes it, and his words, the XT will sh!t on VY exec in all repects.

What suprised him about the package, was, well, everything...the new control blade IRS, the DOHC engine, very smooth, loves to rev, interior quality...

he was just really impressed, and for me this is the best sign coming from some what a Holden man!

I'm spewing i wasn't here for the drive, but in the near future, an XR8 will be picking me up to go for a spin!!!!

I love hearing positive things like that! If a holden leaning person feels that way, what about Joe Average.
Now to get all them swinging buyers in the car that abandoned the blue oval when AU come out. Falcon was the number one choice a long time ago, these people returning might even up the ledger.

I think for the sake of the australian car market we need the BA to be a great success, if it is not Ford australia will be in dire straights and holden will have no competiton to push them to build quality not halve finished crap. Sure noone likes to be the brunt of the joke and you ford guys know that better than most but i am willing to cop some flack in the hope that the BA lives up to the hype and then holden come back with something bigger and better and that continues to be the trend. Where ford and holden can try and one up eachother untill the world starts to look at aussie cars as being the world leaders. Untill then i am going to arm my ls1 with more kw's and prepare for battle.

not at the moment...check ya local dealer for more, they should have brochures by now.. the dealer drive days for vic are this week, so they should have the brochures by now. U cant take any home yet (unless ur lucky..or special), but they will give u a look for sure

The dealers do have them. But the tight arse salesman wnotn give me any.
