Well I think it will get sales, a bit to early to say at this stage, give it a couple of months once the enthusiast demand has died off.

I think the Aussie version is a much nicer looking car. A client of mine has an HSV GTO in red and that's one sexy looking car. Pity though that he's had three engines in it in twelve months and that the paint on the fiberglass bits is peeling.

Its awesome. Very proud of Australian engineering. This car will no doubt be popular to the enthuasist and the a-b driver looking for a nice looking car to buy. Its faster than the corvette, i hear.

i wouldn't say its faster than a corvette, its just as powerful, just weighs a bit more.

at the current exchage rate, they are getting it for A$48-49K ? but, no climate, 17" rims, no memory seats, no reverse sensors, and a few other little things,,, but what they do get is more power, fatter rubber, closer spaced ratios and badass exhaust note !!!

I'd love to know how many they would sell if it wasn't badged as a GTO. I think that the badge is the cars main attraction to the americans and not much else. I know that if I was an enthusiast of the original GTO's I would be hating GM's decision to use a car that has absolutly no ties to the original. I also think the front of it looks crap. I don't like the Monaro much but the front looks better than the GTO and the spoiler on the back makes it look shit as well.
