Hey guys, I have a few ideas up in the air at the moment and I thought Id ask you guys to perhaps, pull some of those ideas down to earth

Current Plans
My ea currently has a rattly 330,000k old engine & 3 speed trans. I have an EB 4.0 engine lined up which I can pick up any time. To bring the car up to scratch body-wise it will need a minor amount of rust cut out, a new RHF guard, both 1/4 panels will need to be straightened, both rear doors will probably need to be replaced and of course a fresh coat of stark white over the top.

Option 1
I can most likely get a GOOD EA Falcon minus the engine, trans, interior, bolts ons for the cost of the tow truck or near enough, in which I could fit the 4.0i at my leisure, then eventually swap my interior, transmission and other bolt on items such as headlights,tail lights etc

which do u think would be the best way to go about it, I have no idea which way I wanna go

either way the trans needs to come out for the whole thing.
not sure whats easier, i'd prolly want the extra body to play around with anyway.

It would take you longer to swap bits over to the new shell, and a lot of it will be difficult and a lot of swear words will be yelled. You then have the problem of having to dispose of the old shell. Also what are the chances of finding a good straight body EA that's stark white and has no engine etc?

I would stick with the car you've got, put the good bits in, get the panels straightened and you're off. Quicker, easier and I dare say maybe a little cheaper.

I would get the spare shell and keep your car as a dayly driver and turn the spare into a project car....

I wouldn't do a swap as alex said it'll take a long time and you'll be without a car.....

But thats just me....

Yeah i realised that the more I thought about it karl, getting a shell is no problem as the "family business" sends a fair few of them to the crusher every month

I think ill keep mine after all, fit some good panels etc and go from there
