G'Day all,

Just thought I would start a thread on what other funny names you use for car parts, or have heard them called. I'll start the ball rolling with a few.

Automatic Transmission:- Sludge-O-Matic, Think-Tank, Trau-Matic (Holden Tri-Matic).

Diff Centre:- Pumpkin (Ford 9" Removable Carrier Type, as opposed to Bog Warner which isn't removable).

Disk Brake:- Top Hat (AU Falcon on, as opposed to earlier type Unicast with intergral Hub).

Banjo (or Bang-go:s6: ) diff (early Holden 6)
Slide and Glide (GM Powerglide trans)
Opera window (the rear 1/4 window glass in the body of a car, not the one in the door)
Moonroof (sunroof)
Hood (Yank speak for bonnet)
Trunk (Yank speak for boot)
Windsheild (Yank speak for windscreen)
