Yesterday evening around 6:30 our power went out. Get this, while I was listening to my handheld scanner in hopes of finding out what was going on, I hear a deputy call in to the sheriffs office that the locks were cut at the substation just to my south, and a lot of copper had been cut out and stolen. Can you believe that??? The whole southern half of this county was in the dark due to copper thieves. After about a hour and a half they had back up and running. Pretty desperate people to risk their lives robbing a electrical sub station. They must have known what they were doing.

Pity they didn't blow themselves up .We get a lot of churches and other buildings stripped of the lead on roofs for scrap .
