Pbr Clutch Kits And Xr8's

Hi,

Just found out that PBR are no longer making clutch kits for my ef xr8 and other e-series xr8's due to lack of durability! How pathetic - I have had nothing but trouble from two PBR clutch kits which both only lasted 3000 odd klm's. The first one was replaced under warranty and the second they would not saying the clutch had been abused.

Apparently they won't even make an rpm clutch kit either for the same vehicle. Anyway Daiken have apparently beefed up their kits and I will be installing shortly. Pisses me off having to pay for someone elses poor work!

If you have had two clutches that only lasted 3000km, has your EF only done 6000km? Mathematically I would say so, but reaslistically I wouldn't. What clutch have you done all your other Km in?

Doesn't Valeo do the Ford V8 clutches?

Cobra - of course its done more than 6000klm - I have put two in myself during ownership - both lasted 3000 odd klms before making strange fluttering noises - had the first one replaced and the second they would not. I have driven with it as is until now when I will replace.

XR6000- Funny you should mention valeo as the clutch kit I am putting in is a Valeo packaged by daiken!

Can you define this "strange fluttering noise"? So apart from the noise there's nothing else wrong with the clutch? Does not slip or feel mechanically faulty?
