ok need some help with the puter. some wierd things are happening and i dont know how to fix them.
my homepage is hijacked, change it back and it only stays on it once then goes back to the hijacked page.
when i shut down the window i got a message that reads :

iexplore.exe-Application error
the instruction at "0x00902ce8" referenced memory at "0x00b88bb0". the memory could not "read"
click on OK to terminate the program.

then when i do that it comes up with:

Error
runtime error 216 at 00002ce8

every single time i shut down the window.
ive had a look through the computer and also found a new connection had been made but not accessed. porn was looked at while i was away and i believe this has been the cause. also i downloaded 'Spybot-search and destroy' and it cleared out a heap of spyware and other stuff but didnt fix this problem.
so the question is what do i need to do to fix this?
also the firewall WAS on too.

dont bother its fixed. i just did a system restore to the day before it buggered up. all is well now.

if u ever need to change the HP cos its hijacked

just run regedit and search for the new homepage address eg : www.pornland.com

and delete the key that is relating to that, and then you can set the homepage back to whatever you want

its just a reg key that changes it

i spose now u know for next time too then hey, prolly wouldnt hurt to get a spyware removal program either, spy sweeper or somethin like that, let it have a look round ur comp

i have Adware which i use sometimes to get rid of spyware, works really well. my misses actually thought of doing the system restore to the day before it all went bad, and i didnt think it would work but it did. handy to know in the future!

do u mean "Adaware"? anyway probably so but yeah i used to use adaware a while ago and it did a pretty good job, the xp system restore is a damn handy tool but for alot of probs it doesnt completely fix them and ive found they are back a little while later till ya get to the source of it.

Don't be fooled by running Firefox ther's no chance of spyware... i'm running linux and 'konqueror' and still manage to get infected with crap.... plus there 's no easily downloadable spyware cleaner for linux either :(
