I had a mate drag a VY SS commodore ute down the strip. The VY's best time was a 15.100. My mate has an standard AU V8 Manual ute and he did a 14.900.
I can tell you the commodore driver was not happy................hehehehhhehe.

Bloody hell guys.. get off your high horse. I don't see that as bragging and the fact is he beat the XR8 fair and square, so as he said a win's a win! He can see it was one off win, not like he is saying his car is an all out XR8 beater because of one victory....
And there is nothing wrong with low 15's thats roughly what most of the I6 guys are running other than those with lots of mods. As the guy said he is only a beginner and is asking for advice.... good on him for getting out there and having a go
I agree Spinksy. He wasn't bragging at all. I don't know what SS he's got but it sounds like from his times and his supprise of beating a BA (admitting that it was the BA drivers error not fault of vehicle) that his car would be a pre-LS1. So by Saying that It's probably a pretty respectable time. I am yet to see a stock XR6 go under mid 15, most of our XR6's were in the 16's.
