its been around for a while, but in the Auto Super Market Mag on the first page, Stillwell Ford are advertising what i guess are AU1 forte's with Au1 xr fronts. Now I dont know about you guys/gals but doesn't this cheapen the xr badge?
I dont think Ford\tickford should allow this!!
I might be over reacting, hell I dont even own a xr, but if I did (or should I say, when I do) it would drive me up the wall.
And also, I take it you have all heard about the recall of Tributes and Escapes from a certain date (cant remember the exact date). I thought the Fords from Japan were meant to be almost bulletproof. As if Ford Oz needs this!

Yeah i agree, i'd never fit an XR front to a stock falcon/fairmont just not right. My theory is that a falcon can be doneup nicely without putting on an XR front.
Hell i don't even have a single tickford badge.
About the Escape/Tribute what was the factory recall????

When they first started doing this, I can tell you I wasn't impressed. The same goes for the Tickford wheels. The wheel looks fantasic on Fairmonts and the like but it was a option on XR cars only when I got mine. Doesn't bother me at all now.
Hey - as long as they are selling it as an "XR lookalike" than I cant seem the harm in it.
I have seen quite a few Wagon's with XR fronts, and also manual V8 wagons .... hopefully the people at ford will see these and realise that people do want these options available to them.

yeah...i dont care about the wheels, if i get a falcon, for my first car, the first thing i would buy are a set of xr mags, there sweet.
As for the escape recall, it was a small article in todays sun in the business section..i cant remember the exact problem, something to do woth a nut coming lose and fuel spilling.

I guess the AU wagons are an exception as they are trying to tell Ford to re-introduce the XR wagon. What iw as getting at is i will never ever put an XR front on my wagon. I reckon it can look awesome without doing the xr front jobbie.
Oh yeah i agree wheels and body kit are cool.

I agree with you. I've seen few on the roads carrying the xr front, and they look ugly, something's wrong with it. The car is High above the ground, the spoiler is not the same, and thin tyres make them look stupid. Sure it's bad for the xrs, and I hope they don't allow the new T series body kit to be on every forte.
i agree that ford should have xr wagons..i still see some ef ones and they look cool...but i dont think a dealer should be sticking xr fronts on fortes just to clear his stock, which i bet is the reason.
I dont care if people get it done as an after maket job, but these look a bit shabby.
