Vauxhall recently launched the Monaro and the Monaro VXR 5.7v8 & 6.0v8 respectively and both of them are really good value for money......

But here in the UK, Ford have absolutely nothing to put up against them... The best we get is a 3.0v6 24v Mondeo ST220... Which isn't exactly going to set the world alight.....

So Please Mr. Ford, Make Me Happy, Bring the Falcon To The UK....!!!!

does anyone know why they don't export the xr8? I would also love to get my hands on one, but since I'll be moving to south africa in afew months i don't want to have issues with maintenance and warranty. they have the gen III SS commodores and unfortunately if i do decide to buy a v8 it'll be the only one i can afford.(can't afford the german v8s).

yep, import one, the only thing that doesnt comply with registering it in the UK i think, and you need to change, is add miles per hour on the speedo, which i dont think is too hard, and add those stupid rear mounted fog lights that we get here on Hyundais and the stupid drivers here dont know that they are fog lights, and leave them switched on!, Other than that, i think thats it.... Dont know how the body will handle the salt/snow combination Australian cars havent handle being exported to those climates in the past, but maybe thats changed now

We don't seem to get any Aussie Fords over here anymore :( In the 70's Ford imported quite a few Fairmonts & Falcons,even Chrysler Chargers & Valiants made it over in reasonable numbers. Few over here have probably even heard of the XR8 with their attention being caught by the 05 Muzzy, great pity....

What started my off was watching the V8 Touring Cars and the V8 Br'Utes... fantastic racing series...... That's why I'm planning a trip to Oz next year...!!!

Ford don't have the capacity to export vehicles from Australia, other than NZ & Sth Africa. They are flat out at current production levels.
I'm pretty sure one of the models they export to Sth Africa is the XR8 though.
