Yeah I got motor today. it's not bad. Had a look at wheels too. Both have a good bit about the T3. Motor has a bit at the start with the AV. They also have the exact picture if a white taped up car which was posted on here a few weeks ago. Was that sold to them or what? Maybe spyman knows. Anyway i got MOTOR for the fact that my letter was featured in write off, yay!

I just lost a huge post i had written about Wheels and Motor cos my connection dropped out so I am really unhappy cos everything was worded exactly right and i put quite a bit of effort into it. I will try a rewrite as follows.
1) Motor Mag: I think it's very dodgy of them to write up the old Monaro as if it was God's gift to racetracks and Australia. If anyone in Vic read Joe Kenwright in Friday's Herald Sun cars guide, you would see he claimed the old Monaros were some of the biggest pieces of sh*t ever released on an unsuspecting public. IN FACT, the brains behind the new CV6/8 did not like the moniker 'Monaro' cos they remembered just how crap the old ones were and did not want their new baby tarnished by association with the old one.
And don't try and make out like it was a legendary race car (UNLIKE the A9X's which were good race cars). They only won when Fords bowed out to bad luck, i.e. 1968 when a stone ended Bo Seton's race whilst in the lead, 1969: Al Turner's stupid tyre decision which cost Moffat and Geoghan bros their chances of assured victory. Whenever GT's and HO's won, it was from the front at the start to the finish. Holden's attrition rate was not an issue for Ford victories.
They also had better give the Windsor as big a send off as they did for the 308 or else I'll never buy another issue AGAIN.
2)Wheels Mag: I liked the fact that the (Victorian, I presume) XR owners club got a mention, great publicity, that!! Also DF using the term 'Dark Side' was also a nice touch; very Ford Forums I thought!
But the letters to the editors were an absolute disgrace. If you ever want to see stupidity in action, check this out. For that moron to claim that Carey, in declaring the XR8 220 a much better proposition than the SS, 'forgot the important things like the Falcon is butt ugly' was just unbelievable. To in essence admit that the Falcon is a better car in every other respect (and almost as fast in a straight line) but should lose to the SS cos (in his very dubious opinion) it is not as good looking goes way beyond a joke. I have rarely yet had the gross displeasure to read a more stupid, ill informed, ignorant, unintelligable, halfwitted, so called opinion as that.

And a damn fine 2 cents it is too.. I couldn't agree more about the halfwit comments that appear in the letters sections of both mags. While some a very intelligent the others that make it to publication are a joke. Must admit I've given up hope of ever having one of mine published..
