By now most have you have seen annoying dialog boxes that pop up asking you to install crap you don't want to install (that stupid precision time thing by Gator for instance).

I was just wondering if anyone knows a way to get Internet explorer to "remember" a decision of NO so that whenever you get to a site that tries to install something you don't want it just ignores the request.

The main reason I want to do this is so my little brothers that use my computer have installed crap plugins from time to time and it annoys the !@$!@$ out of me when I have to go over my computer with a fine comb to get rid of the thing.

Go to download.com and get Ad-aware and Pop-up Stopper.
And stop visiting pRon sites.

No it doesn't block those dialogs to my knowledge. You can download programs that do stop annoying pop-up advertisements...

In Internet Explorer, go to Tools, Internet Options, SEcurity, Custom Level, and turn off all Active X Controls. WIll stop some of it

there are custom controls inthe IE settings that you can set sites you dont want to come up ... I saw a massive list once and they guy said it got rid of 99% of the ads...

gator sucks ... VERY hard to get rid of ...

Adaware does clean out gator, now maybe if we could somehow get someone at adaware to make a plugin that pulls all the crap out (like cookies) and then auto blocks those sites in ie
