Point Proven: Holden ppl have bad attitude!

An interesting event took place last friday. Had the XB out for a small cruise about town and met some fellow ford enthusiasts down near the bridge. Initially my friend and i parked away from them and just walked over to admire their fords (1 XA, 2 XY's). In no time i got my car next to theirs and got really friendly with them. It was surprising to me to notice how well we were getting on, swapping knowledge, stories and laughs for a good 40 minutes and then we split ways.

Then...

Go to Harrys and get parked in by a commodore ute hanging with his mates driving 4 cyls. There were a few holden fans there and it seemed the only thing they could do was try to take a stab at me saying that my head gasket has blown. Don't thinks so i reply, then they proceed to show me what was coolant up near my front right tyre trying to prove a point. However if they looked closely they would notice the puddle was not leading to my engine bay and even so, if it was mine, coolant doesn't drip uphill (Hmmm...). This was folowed by strange looks like we were some enemy, and their tones were like they wanted to test our patience. Totally opposite vibes to associating with ford fans.

Do you agree, have you had any similar experiences.

I went to the Ford day at Peter Warrens last week in my SS and had a group of guys come up to me and start abusing me telling me that I wasn't allowed to go in because I drove a Holden.

There are screwed up morons both sides of the fence, to label all of them having a bad attitude is pure stupidity.

I had one where a bloke in a $50,000 GEN3 HSV UTE. Called my car a piece of shit.

The story :

Minding my own business driving down Hammond Rd. Stopped @ the lights heading toward Greens Rd. I hear "Your cars a piece of shit mate!" I look across and smile. I stall up the old 27yo XB at the time. Sure enough I absolutely blow him away. Well what do you expect from a 450hp 351. Anyway we stop @ the lights @ Greens rd he's turning right. I am turning left. I yell out "Who's cars a piece of shit now!" Of course I got no response or even a glimpse. I guess he saw too much of my number plate.

I am guessing he wouldn't have raced another XB an quite awhile since I knocked him down a peg or two.

Heres a link to my piece of shit as he called it.

Good stuff Brenx, stick it to em. Nothing better than blowing a Holden into the weeds, especially when they think their top shit.

Re: Point Proven: Holden ppl have bad attitude!

As what has been said above it's not only holden owners.

I have gone up to a bloke in a tarted up EA. I go over and say "Hi, nice EA" and he takes one look at my car and goes " yeah mate my car will sh*t all over yours."

Then again one time I noticed a nice EJ ute and got on really well with him....

I guess it all depends on the intellectual level of the owner of the car and his willingness to be a car fanatic or just some moron with what he thinks is a flash car.

Cheers

I found more hostility from Ford drivers than Holden drivers, but not as bad as the imports!

Some days I have fun, the other days I just flash my fake cop badge :)

Laughing at either the fact they have a cap on at midnight or the lame bodykit they've glued to their car gets me out of the humiliation of being slain by them at the lights..
