Police caught lying about speed camera sites - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Saw newspaper report a few days ago where some Vic police traffic heavy assured the public that speed camera sites are selected by, amongst other things, con*****tion with councils about blackspots etc. I was sceptical.

I've just finished speaking to the council that controls the area where I got pinged for exceeding 50k a while back, to try to find out why it's now got huge white "50" on the road in many places. Naturally, it's there now because a lot of people made my mistake of thinking it was 60.

So I asked him about how the camera sites are selected and whether it was done in con*****tion with the council. His exact words were "I don't know how they work that out." He's been there for years and never had any contact on this issue. Why aren't I surprised?

Vic Roads & the Revenue Service (Speed Cameras) are a law unto themselves. As long as the revenue goes into govt coffers then they don't give a shyte..

to be honest i thought this thread was about coppers having a snooze on the side of the road, whilst the speed camera is set up!

Stupid me
