Are police using lasers on flashing lights?

Just been told by someone who saw a Vic cop car in country at night that the flashing red and blue lights on front bumper are like lasers, with a distinct narrow beam that "went for miles". She hadn't noticed it in city, maybe because of the surrounding light. Are they using lasers?

Possibly just new better reflectors with more efficent halogen globes. The problem with Lasers is they are very narrow, and outside the viewing angle you really can't see if they are on or not. They could be trialling LED lights, but I doubt they would have the power as described..

Strobes mounted in a good reflector type light will be just like driving lights.

As had been said before, they are definately not lasers. That would be highly illegal and very dangerous. They are just very good lights
