We cant let Holden off the hook that easily. The comparison should be based on price. This is the ONLY thing controlling your purchasing decision. Once you know how much you are going to spend, you look at the options for the money.
No point comparing the $44000 XR Turbo to the $49500 SS. They are two completely seperate price brackets.
This is hard to say. For me it depends on the XR8's price. There is 10 grand seperating the SS and clubsport, so where Ford prices the XR8 will dictate what comparisons are made, as it will be closer one more than the other. I have read in different places that the XR8 is getting a big increase, but they are just rumours. Personally as a Holden man I want to see it against the HSV, but I can probably guess what all you Ford guys want.....

would like to see our turbo 6 beat the gen 3....., then the xr8 doing the same, then would like to see the XR8 boss beat the clubby.....then see the GT beat the GTS, and the GT-P......senator for lunch anyone?

i agree dude!
Ford vs Holden.
FPV vs HSV.
Traditional fights though.
xt vs exec.
futura vs acclaim.
fairmont vs berlina.
Fairmont Ghia vs Calais.
xr6 (n/a) vs ? (not sure what goes here)
xr6t vs sv8 or supercharged v6
xr8 vs ss
Now, if the xr8 swallows the ss whole like some of us are expecting, maybe the only other competition is R8 Clubby!:s3

That's pretty well how I'd have it, but with another additional test..
XT V8 vs. SV8
I wouldn't replace the XR6T vs SV8 with this, as I would like to see how both fair against it.
C'mon motoring press - let's see an all-out comparison from both manufacturers! Take 1 model from each division, line them up, drive them hard, give a verdict. Repeat for all divisions. Not hard is it! :s6:

it's all about where you draw the lines ... if the XR8 is high 50's then it should be against the Clubby (not R8), if it is low 50's then is comes up against the SS. It's up to Ford where they position the car price wise.
NA XR6 vs NA S, but both are just base models with body kits, so nothing gained from testing those. XR6T would slaughter s/c S, but they are both forced sixes so fair's fair.
