Well, this forums seems like it should be called "Falcon Forums".
Hey, not that that's a bad thing (*dreams of full-size GT*) but I was wondering if there's any drivers of the good ol pommy fords, Cortina, Escort, Capri, Zodiac, Zephyr etc etc.
Just curious if there was any like-minded people in here!
Some people have some knowledge of Cortinas, Escorts, Capri (non australian made ones too).. Given that some of the other areas are pretty quiet in relation to american cars etc etc etc.. you might try posting here in the pub
You can try us here if you got a question or have some interesting information, BON used to be a little more alive in the non falcon/oz areas..
Lunatic SS might be able to help you if you want to locate a UK ford thing for those wacky fords..
Yeah my family owns 2 MKI Capris. I drive a 1970 2l Pinto and my brother has a 1600 GT varient. Good little cars but at the moment they tend to suck up what little money I have as parts are almost obsolete.
I spent about $3k on my Capri last year. Mainly on new tyres and wheels (15 inch Superlites) and the engine (head work and experimenting with different carby setups.) On my last dyno session it managed 98BHP at the rear wheels. I am happy with that so that is the end of spending money on the engine. I have now bought a 96 Fairmont Ghia so the Capri is not getting the attention it once had.
I was thinking of selling it but after going for a long drive yesterday I don't think I will be. I just like the way it is so crude in terms of ride, power delivery and the steering. I don't know it is just something about driving it that puts me off selling it. Plus there are not many on the roads anymore so I reckon I will keep mine for a while yet. (Too much spent on it to sell it)
