biggrin popped my motorsport cherry today

well, as the title says, today was my first time playing in my car in any competitive event. it was in an autokhana in perth and it was unbelievable fun. putting a mildly worked Escort up against some of the other cars there doesnt look like a fair fight(no abs, traction control, etc etc etc), but after a couple of runs, the RS was posting some decent times. it even managed to sneak in front of a wrx and a nissan 180zx turbo thingy.

more importantly, i had the car working its little arse off and i was grinning like an idiot. sensational fun and i will be back.

ha ha nice title. Glad to hear you had a good time. I cant wait to get some sort of competitive driving happening with my car.

Is an autokhana where you drive a certain section of road and you get timed against other cars?

Well done rsgerry, now that the bug has bitten where will it end? Escorts have always been giant killers, you know that.

Re: popped my motorsport cherry today

thek, auokhana is a short course moarked out with witches hats that you get to drive around. you race against the clock, and as you dont get too fast, accidents are rare and will probably just embaress you rather than injure you. great fun.

Blurter...i dont want to think where this is going. i am entering another autokhana next month and also a hillclimb and sprint. i think it is going to start getting expensive....

Re: popped my motorsport cherry today

That sounds really cool. And yeah its good to not have to worry so much about getting seriously injured if you do crash. Or wrecking your car.
