Is prestige sound worth it?

Hi,

Just wondering if the prestige sound in a BA XR8 ute is worth the price.

I have a bit of an issue with my dealer as I negotiated the price of the car with them saying that they would throw it in as part of the deal.

Going over my paperwork I see that they have charged me the extra $545.

Now since I have signed on the dotted line it may be hard to change the deal now..buyer beware and all that.

But if it's a load of bollocks in terms of improvement over the standard system then I'll just get them to delete it as an option and refund the $545.

I went for it because of the 6 stack CD. The tweeters make a difference as well, although 600 smacks is a bit rich. I understand utes from April build will have the option of the colour screen and Premium Sound - that would be my choice if it's true because Satnav would be handy.

Overpriced to be sure, but I'd miss it if I didn't have it. If you have time and resources to confidently fit your own stacker and tweeters and improve the quality then do it. I don't so I forked out, though I got it for a bit less than $600.

The fact that the stacker is integrated with the ICC makes it easy to live with. As for the rumour of the Premium kit going into utes I'm not sure you can hang around for that, if and when...

Nah.. I sorted it all out, it was just bit of a mistake on the invoice. It's in the car but I didn't pay anything for it as far as it being an option.

I wanted premium but my car is set for delivery in early March so it's no chance for the premium. I asked but no luck on that one.

Prestige has better speakers? I didnt know that. I thought it was just 6 cd in dash that was different. IS it more power or anything too?

I got it in my XT sedan, but have nothing to compare it to.
