Re: prices

For what you've got? Shouldn't need any more than the stock system. Best value for money would probably be the thermofans but, AU go from Ford for $220 (EL is more - go figure). Add in about $80 for a thermoswitch, and you're set.

Re: prices

By AU I was referring to the AU series Falcons, sorry
About $120-$200 depending, most people seem to want in the vicinity of $25/injector.

If it was overheated it may have cooked the head. Does it use water/run rough/have white oil?
Blow any smoke?

Re: prices

Can you find coolant anywhere on the side of the block (around the middle of the exhaust manifold is a good place)? That indicates the headgasket is blown (just a little leak developing between the waterjacket and the headgasket.. it'll chew coolant a bit, and its best to fix it as quick as possible, as it may end up causing damage to the head)

Re: prices

No to all of the above... If no to juarez, then the head ought to be fine. Overheating won't have done any appreciable damage to the rest of the engine if it didn't stuff the top end. Hoses may be a little streched, but they should be fine for a long while yet.

Re: prices

Pressure test the cooling system..
Pump up about 100kpa, sit back and watch for 5 to 10 minutes.
A rapid pressure drop indicates a big problem.
Any pressure drop indicates a leak.. Watch until you see a trickle somewhere around the engine, radiator, hoses etc.
If none showing it's probably an internal leak, probably into a cylinder via the head gasket.

If you think it might be internal continue pressure for 15 to 20 minutes then start the car.
**Don't do this if the pressure drop is rapid and not showing externally.. You may fill a cylinder and 'hydraulic' it if it fills with coolant.**

A misfire on a plug probably means it's wet and you may get water out the exhaust.
A cleaner looking plug than the rest may be because it's been 'washed' with the coolant.

Re: prices

the other day my bro was just standing near the front of the car with the bonnet open and we'd just been out and the hose that goes into the thermostat spilt and sprayed him with coolant is this caused by over heating should i check all hoses????
