I was amazed today when I saw Nintendo Gamecubes at EB going for $199.95. These are brand new... not trade-ins.
I just had to get one.... also got a "Party Pack" for $29.95... containing 1 extra controller, Mario Party game and $50 voucher towards magazine subscription.... thats $200 worth of gear.
Now I havent played it yet (Ive got Zelda in my sights for tonight) so I cant compare between it and the PS2 or Xbox.
I can say that I find the Xbox to be much better than the PS2.
The Gamecube is so small its not funny.... I can see its benefits but I can also see its bad points.... but seeing as Ive got all 3 consoles i'm set.
Oh yeah... I got my Gamecube from BigW (EB didnt have any party packs left & you can only get them with a console).... BigW matched EB's price... which they werent happy about considering they are selling theres for $318. hehe
I bought a PS2 so I could take it places, something about carting around a hard disk and the possability of heavy shock, especially on an airplane (no i dont play it on the plane just take it to play the other end), just worries me.

Same here... Ive got a carry bag for the PS2 and Xbox.
The worst thing I find with the Xbox.... its size and weight.
I love my gamecube its so small and it even has a carry handle! I finished zelda in 2 weeks... i pretty much didnt sleep lol

I got PS2 and Xbox. The ps2 and xbox are pretty much the same as far as the same games go on the different consoles. The Xbox defently has more potential but the range of games on the Playstation makes it the better of the 2 for me. As for Game Cube. I dont have one bet me best amte does. I dont know if its just the cutsy poo games (mario sunshine and zelda) but the console seems to be way behind the competition.
Nothing beats the good old PC tho!
My friend snapped his CG controller. It's like something from a Fischer~price catalogue or something. Tiny. Xbox and PS2 however have the best controlle design, however the PS2's is getting abit long in the tooth.

well I love my xbox simply because of what I can do with it.
I chipped it then fitted a 120gb hard drive so now I can copy movies/roms for snes/sega/gba/playstation/mame/amiga, and Xbox games straight to the drive and play them on the tv.
Also because of the lower resolution of Tv's (576x400something)
lower quality movies still look killer (say VCR quality) on the telly.
I love it $500 all up and it's the best damn thing I've ever got.
got 25 games on the HDD at the moment then about 500 emulated games.
Playing GT2 on Xbox sure annoys PS fans!
Of course I own all the games I have on the box including the emulated ones.
I don't condone piracy.
That said I always give away anything I make. ;-)
