project car ?

what car should i get as a project car
i want to put a worked 351 (bored out to a 460 with stainless steel sleves inserted) with a supercharger in this vechile im thinking along the lines of the XA-XC copue i know it comes down to personal choice but perhaps some one can suggest a vechile that i havent thought of and i dont want to pay an arm and a leg for it
also what is the best block to use
gear boxes ?

Have you built a car before and how much do you know before you start?

Yeah Capri's are wicked but a good one WILL cost an arm and a leg (and maybe more if the parts are comming from england)
Cortinas a tuff little cars and are cheap to buy but It's not easy to get a 351 in there (are you looking at a clevlend or a winsor cause I think the winsors are smaller but 351 is the biggest you can safely go)
If your thinking XA-XC then go get an XC fairmont. They look tuff and handle better than the XA/XB's
XW/XY's are great but they've been done to death and are hard to get a hold off.
I think an XC is the better Falcon to go for but If you were looking at other Fords than the cortina is a good option.
However are you serious????? a 460 supercharged is a LOT of money and time but also a shit load of power.
Hope your over 30 and not building a road car. Otherwise your a dead man.

with that sort of power, i am assuming that it is probably a drag car. if not, i would personally buy and xr6T or xr8. you need to remember one thing about projects...they cost big bucks. it is cheaper to buy a car that someone else has built and sunk the money into.

my project car, the RS2000, was purchased as a shell, and i have bought all of my parts second hand, except front indicator lenses which were new from the UK, and it has cost me about $6000. and it isnt on the road yet! there is more to come. the car came with no mechanicals, so i purchased a van as a donor vehicle.

unless you really have to build this car, look at the alternatives first.

I'm interested to hear how you're going to bore a 351 to 460.

I think you might in fact be a Tripper .... or some ppl who don't know very much are putting some crazy ideas between your ears.

I second the Qs put to you by ADZ351 and carazy ...

I wouldn't bore out any further than 40-50 thou if this is a 351 Clevo we are talking here. At 50 thou you will definetly need sleeves. I have never heard to stroking a 351 to 460!!!!, however 400 ci is possible. To be honest ,you don't need it stroked to go hard, unless you wish to tow some very large transport.
A 351 taken out to 20-30 thou will give you a few more cubes, but its what you do with the heads (2V or 4V) that will make a real difference (plus the supercharger)

If you want a 460 ci, just buy a 460 and go from there. It will work out cheaper than stroking.

Go The XC Coupe, they're a class car that would be suited to the power you want.

If youve got the $$$ do up an XR6 T, it would be outta this world.
