Because of the number of accidents on the Ipswich Motorway, from November, the speed limit on the Ipswich Motorway will be reduced from 100km/hr to 90km/hr. Mr Lucas Police Minister said " this will reduce the number of accidents on the Ipswich Motorway" The Federal Liberal Member also agrees.
You can bet Constable Kodak will also be there!!!!!
Other countries are increasing the speed on Motorways, because studies have shown it reduces accidents. Here, they go the other way.
Strange this is happening at Christmas time, when more cars will be on the Motorway?
I hear jingle bells in govt coffers.!!!

Doesn't matter if the speed limit is reduced to 60km/hr, if the driver isnt concentrating on driving, or the car isnt maintained properly, there will be a crash anyway......

In my opinion a long freeway stretch with a lower speed limit will only make driving more drowsy- more inclined to sway off the road. But you cant tell the pollies that, the heads are a bit thick lol

Great.... what next Steve Bracks reduces Hume to 80, and Monash to 60 and 20 through the tunnels? Why can't they put people who are educated in the area they are minister of such as Peter Brock as minister for transport?

So true. It's amazing what one moment of a lack of concentration can do. I've been guilty of it myself but luckily no other traffic have been around at the time to cause any serious accidents.

Wow, finally the Ipswitch Motorway is safe again! slowing people down by 10kph will ensure there are no accidents at all. i cant believe they didnt think of that sooner, pure genious.
