What power does XR8 ute put out?? I think its still the 200 but some of you were saying it now has the 220. I know ute sales are going great and the pursuit 250 is on the way to take Maloo on but SS utes are everywhere and have to be outselling XR6 and XR8 utes on their own IMO.

Also someone on the spy LS1.com thread says that there is no fleet discount on any Tickford vehicle {officially} which is why HSVs and SSs attract much more executive buyers. Is this true?? Its a joke if it is!

I believe that the XR8 ute still uses the 200 Kw engine

as for the fleet discounting, i was told that that has been cut right across the ford range, which could explain the further drop in sales this year :dead:

I was reading through the book 'True Blue' and it mentioned that at one stage Ford was lucky to make $50 a car on fleet vehicles, and then the fleets would go and sell them 6-12 months later at Auction for about what they paid for them, or even making a profit on them.

I understand that Ford did drop their fleet discounts at the time of the AU launch (or at least made them 'dealer' option), which probably accounted for the more lost sales than anything else to do with the car! Also understand that it has been reinstated now.

Govt departments especially, prior to GST they could buy them Tax Free, keep them for 2 or 3 years or 30,000km and sell them for a profit. However the mob I work for is too dopey to see that, they preferred to lease them. I failed maths at school but I could see they were wrong to lease. They have now worked out that they would be better off to buy.

What a silly move if that was the case. I hope they learnt from their mistake. I agree that would have lost them more sales than anything and would have made more people think negative about its looks. I Seriously hope they wont be stupid enough to do it with AV.
