I know most of you would have read this in the latest MM but how many times over the years do we see these type of figures coming from Holden. I know it is only bragging rights to straight line speed but would'nt it be nice to see Ford (GT) having a write up like this.

Pretty sad really when we have to wait for a supercharged GTHO to improve the straight line speed. I realise this subject has been hashed out before on FF but reading this article makes me think what have Ford got to do to get back our bragging rights for straight line speed?, it's been to many years now!!

I hear you rod c. It is a little dis-heartening to read that write-up. If FPV can't churn out the fastest car though...we would want the best overall car.

I think it more sadder when they're comparing the R8 to world class cars like Porches and BMW's M3.

anyone can make a car fast, hell i could make my car outrun a R8, i'd love bragging rights, but i'd still take a GT over an R8 any day!

I have driven both the GT and VY1 R8 and i have to say on a back to back basis i would choose the R8. Its only my blue blood that stops me! The R8 is an awesome package and if you get a chance to drive one then jump at the chance.

hopefully ba series 2 will turn things around gt perhaps have 300kw, six speed manual and auto and they will fix up the gearing and offer 19's standard and perhaps konis like in the TS50's, plus shed some weight.

I suspect that weight loss + the new gearboxes alone would see the GT / GTP head down into mid 5's performance.

Any increase in power would just be a bonus!!

When that sort of comment comes from a "Blue Blood" it is certainly a problem for Ford. Many times I have felt like going back to Holden but like XLR8, when you have Blue Blood running through your veins it is very hard to.

Just had a look over at the darkside and they are having a ball with the article on the R8, so they should be, I know we would if the tables were turned. Have a look for yourself if you like but be warned it is very very dark over there. after reading theyre forum i just feel like calling them all a buch of wankers with all the bull they bang on about but evry1 has theyre own opinion and they prob think im a wanker...!
