Thought id get on here and have a whinge... Night before last, parked at a friends house in cranbourne, came out in the morning and my whole stereo system (and laptop which was hidden in behind my subby) were gone, and the front quarter panel was pretty badly damaged... They also stole a gift voucher for david jones, which was in the form of a gold coin in a jewelery box. THe head was a pioneer (cant remember the model number, but it is about 1 or 2 models old, and was i think the top of the range at the time) and the amp was a kicker IX704. the laptop was toshiba.
I know its a long shot, but if anyone hears anything, or gets offered a cheap stereo, or sees one in a cash converter place anywhere in the area, could u please PM me!!!
thanks mate...
whats weird is that as i was going back to the police station, a done up EF that lives around the corner was pulling out... maybe they were knocking over EFs.. guess they have an easy way of opening them... so anyone with any good gear in your car, be sure to fit an after market alarm!
Sorry to hear mate....
Never ever leave stuff visable in your car... We've had cars broken into at work just coz they've seen a laptop bag on the back seat, thankfully the laptop wasn't there... Did you have a p.o.p on your laptop??? Although they can be cleared parallel port on the toshiba's... i'd it's pretty much gone.
Hi, Thats really bad. Hope you do get your gear back. (dont say it wont happen - cos it does happen.... my father had his Nikon F5 stolen from his car, and it was found at returned about 2 weeks later)
But look on the bright side.... at least you still got your car!

Friggin theifs, that sucks mate. Hope they catch the low lifes soon. Hope they didn't do too much damage to the car.
Best to do some of your own investigations like the nearest second hand shop, local papers to see if any stereo gear is for sale etc etc, you never know they just might not over them selves too well.

Bad luck mate , but even if they do catch the pricks , they courts WILL let them off. I know from experience , the pricks that stole my XB GT (along with a Brock VK , 351 XY ute , 2 x tt250 trail bikes and $15000 worth of house goods from our area) got let off with 2 hours community service a week for a year. They didnt even have to pay a cent in compensation.....and people wonder why so much shit gets stolen !!!!

My mate had all his Christmas pressies stolen from his boot just before Christmas. The other thing just as about annoying as theft is vandalism. Some asshole keyed my brand new black XR6 back in 99 1 week after i got it. I guess some people are just jealous when they see you drive a spanking new car while thery're stuck with a shitbox!
