Recall of series 2 VX commies

Seems the LS1 boys are a little angry at the build quality of their commies. Poor buggers. For 30 grand you should be able to expect reasonable levels of build quality.

Fortunately this one is not as serious as previous issues Commodores have had. Compared to the effort Ford put into fixing the early EA problems, Holden has seemingly done very little since the VT. I think they need some competition, which is fortunately on its way.

D'oh! But even if there is a recall or 2 with BA, it's different from a car that has been on the market for 5 years.

You do a search there for all car recalls since Jan 1 this year and the only Ford one is on Transit

Just go to the site and search for ford.....

The recaall on the VX2 is with the new fuel pump and sender unit which has only been used for the VX2, so its not a 5 year old part that is the problem....

That's true Devil, but generally if a new part is being added like that fuel pump, you'd think they would have got it right first time. VT problems were far more excusable. I'm normally a big Holden fan, but I am disappointed at the arrogant attitude the company has had for the past few years.

Ahh! Here we go.

Date: 18/10/2001

Supplier: Ford Motor Company of Australia Ltd

Category: Motor Vehicles

Product Info: Certain BA Escape model vehicles built from February 1, 2001 to September 19, 2001 inclusive.

Defect details: In some of the affected vehicles, the union nut (locknut) that attaches the Fuel Delivery Module to the fuel tank may not have been completely engaged when installed. This may result in fuel leakage.
