Reputable mechanics in eastern suburbs, Melbourne?
I feel that the last mechanic I went to was a little dodgy and since I'd like to do a fair few things to my car, I want to find a mechanic who I can drop my car off to with confidence in both his ability and honesty.
Please, if you know a good mechanic, someone who you think is trustworthy and competent, then post here so that I can check them out for myself.

I know of an excellent one in Dandenong, very honest and they have some very modern equipment. Amberly Autos I think they are called and no I am not associated with them at all.

Give Dominic at Carnegie Mufflers a call on 9571-6686. I've found him to be as honest as they come, he always tries to save me a few dollars without having to cut any corners, doesn't charge like a wounded bull and he's one of the nicest guys you could hope to find. Tell him Steve with the red Ford Probe gave you his number.

There are only two reputable mechanics in all the eastern suburbs?
Thanks guys, but I'm hoping for something closer to home (Camberwell). You know how it is, you drop off the car and then have to somehow find your way back home (and then back to the garage) or fill several hours in a place like... Dandenong

Strapps in burwood is my pick. I have only recently started to go there and have been amazed at the quality of the work. A couple of times they have saved me a lot of money by some lateral thinking.
They are also a sponsor of the forum and are worth a phone call on that basis alone.

I'll second that . Mick at Amberly Autos. Very good and reputable , and his dyno tuning abilities are the best i've seen anywhere . I used him for 12 years , and when the warranty runs out on my ute , I will return to him.

Not to sure mate, it could be near Dandenong station although I am not really sure how safe that would be. You could always kill some time at Coffey ford just up the road, there is an excellent parts section and the staff there are great :)
