Retro Themes

As an Australian, I feel a close relationship with Euro design. I think one reason why the Au falcon failed to a degree is that Ford turned their back on a part of our history that leads us and our thinking into accepting Europeon design thinking.

Germany seems to be leading the way in many areas, as does a distinct movement towards retro designs. By this I mean looking at the past to influence the look and feel of the present!

I agree although I thought the Falcon had generally been more along the lines of the USA styling in particular the Mustang. Many of the styling cues used to come from the stang and I believe that if the AU had looked like the current Mustang then it would have been very successful.
I am a bit undecided on the retro thing.I thought it was a bit off on some of the vehicles but the mini looks good and the Thunderbird is a total runaway success.

Must admit I love the latest 'stang. How do you reckon a retro themed '05 Falcon would look based on the XW-XY..

I have to admit to not making much scene about yesterday myself. Several people asked me to explain what I was saying so you weren't alone.

Anyway back to the topic. Anyother examples of Retro that work or don't and your feelings as to why?
