did you see todays west australian? the WA police union have admitted that most COPPERS believe cameras are revenue raisers.

but do you know what the biggest killer on WA roads is? not speed, not drink, not tiredness...it is the 'road safety council', headed by that moron, grant dorrington.

here is someone who is supposed to be about road safety and his best defence of speed cameras was 'slow down and they wont be revenue raisers'. well done grant. training, attitude, skills, knowledge, road condition, vehicle condition and experience have nothing to do with road safety. just slow down.

well, i saw an accident last week, not fatal, where speed was not an issue. some clown drove straight through a red light when just the left turn arrow was green. the fire trucks were needed to cut the poor innocent victim out of the car.

but, maybe mr dorrington, you can call this one as speeding. after all, what is the safe speed to travel through a red light?

Well, I have seen quite a few fatal accidents over the past couple of months where speed has been a major factor. Sorry, but speed does kill, its just basic physics. Just because the government has jumped on board and cashed in on speed cameras dosn't mean that speed doesn't kill. Everytime this topic comes up, we have a bunch of people saying things without the facts. Yes, speed cameras are revenue raisers for the government but yes speed does kill, and speed cameras help stop some people from speeding.
