Is there a Register of Encumbered Boats? Is there a Glass book or www.redbook for boats? We want to buy a boat for work worth about $75K and want to be sure of what we are getting! Any tips ppl?

On my NSW boat licence, its says "Phone REVS on 02 96000022 or 1800 424 988. Give the operator the NSW Rego No. / Boatcode/HIN & Engine Nos (If applicable)" I don't know about other states.

A good start would to be to suss out a good Boat Dealer @ Boatpoint . I have found some good info through this site before but I wasn't looking at spending $75k.

If I were spending $75k, I would want someone who knows what they are on about to look after me.

Thanks mate for the info. We have a boat lined up to buy, it's in Brisbane, does REVS cover Qld or only NSW?

Sorry mate, but I wouldn't have a clue.

I've never bought a boat from interestate before.

If you have the BoatCode number, give them a call and ask.

I've since found out that according to the Boating Industry Association of NSW, Queensland do not have a REVs scheme but are trying to implement one.
