RHD Excursion

I was driving past the Ford factory, there is a small company there called VDC that converts American Ford trucks to RHD. THis was the first time I had seen an Excursion. THis was a Limited 4X4. Mate, we are missing out in this country - it didnt even seem as bigt as everyone makes them out to be, but the interior was pretty nice, luckily I had my camcorder. I think they were evaluating it for low-volume imports, lets just hope they go ahead with it, I'd rather spend $120,000 on that than a Lexus Landcruiser!

I've driven 5000 miles in one (LHD in the US) - trust me, they are as big as everyone makes out when you're driving them! With the 3rd row of seats removed, we had enough gear packed in to fill a transit van, and could still see over the stuff through the rearview mirror.

Interior is ace, like driving a loungeroom - the front seats even have armrests.

6.8l engine was great too.

Venom, stop teasing me, ya know I want one :-)
WHat sort of fuel economy are we talking about for the V10? I imagine a PowerStroke would be comparable to a V8 Falcon or Commodore

Every Ford site I have seen has refused to give fuel economy figures for the V10 Excursion. It's one of those 'don't ask' things apparently, though I just thought it would be good for a laugh

Don't forget, Holden introduced the Suburban a few years back and it was not a success. And for heavy duty towing applications, the F series is available now.

I thinking the Suburban failed cos it was a 10 yr old design, about to be replaced in the States, also they could have offered it at more than three dealerships per state or whatever. The F-Series does look nice doesn't it?

I don't remember what fuel economy we were getting. It was mostly freeway driving, but was still drinking at a reasonable rate. The two yanks I was with didn't seem to care, and I was only concerned with the exchange rate!

I like the expedition to be honest.. not too big but big enough to run over enough of the small cars on the road :s6:
