Is it just me or are there millions of wannabe EVO Lancers out there with the obligatory "Sports" exhaust and clear taillights? I am getting sick of these idiots tailgating, cutting people off when changing lanes at 20km/h above the limit and cruising down Rundle St (Adelaide) with thier 500 decibel sound systems. Do they think they will impress people by driving quickly on the roads and displaying pure arrogence to other road users!?
On Friday I saw an idiot driving down Norwood Parade in a Lancer with all the rice mods and P plates (even had a chinese dragon sticker on the bonnet hahahaha) fly up behind me. I was driving at 60 and this idiot was so close to me that I couldn't see his headlights in my rear vision mirror. If I had to brake quickly (not possible in a MKI Capri!) then he would had rear ended me! Before the next set of lights he changed lane and overtook me at about 70km/h and gave me the stare when we stopped.
One only had to sit at a cafe at Norwood or Rundle St. in Adelaide and you will see about 10 fully sik Lancers within 20 minutes hurtle past at well over the limit. Do they think just because they have the WRC body kit their skills behind the wheel are equal to Tommi Makkinens? Sorry just had to get this off my chest! :(
Things that amuse/ piss me off about riced Lancers:
*EVO bodykit on an Auto stock shopping trolley Lancer
* Huge mags that proudly display the rear DRUM brakes! HAHAHA
* Chinese/ Jap decals
* The sound systems and the seating postion of the drivers - chair as far back as possible
* Arrogent and dangerous driving of P platers who think they are Makkinen
no mate they are everywhere, except in brissie and the gold coast we get a bit of variety, excels, mirages, civics etc...they ALL have both front windows down, presumably so the envious onlookers can check out their fully sik red cap on backwards or upside-down visor and dream of having a car as sik as theirs...
the best thing to do when the pull up alongside you is to look directly at them, shake your head in a sympathetic manner and turn to the front, then burst out laughing...sometimes i just cant help myself...

LOL...however, anyone that damages a mk1 capri should be beaten woth a shitty stick. and you are not alone in adelaide on this one. sadly, it is a disease that is country wide. grand turismo is partly to blame. the other portion must go to magazines like fast fours (once a great read, with FAST fours, now an excuse to display korean crap with standard motors, $30k paint jobs and big wheels) and that british mag, maz power. if ever a mag promoted obscene bodykits and ridiculous paint jobs, max power is it.
mind you, if your capri sports anything more than a 1600, no disrespect intended, then just hose the ricer and show them what a real car can do. i once had a bodykitted lancer take on the XR6. what a knob.

Yeah mine has a 2.0 Pinto in it. My mates 1.5 litre FWD Gemini beats auto Lancers VERY easily. I don't think there would be a problem if I ever took up the challenge!
The 17" mags with the tiny tiny tiny front brakes & rear DRUMS! Hahahahahahaha, or worse still, the ones that put those chrome 'mag style' hub caps on to their 13" tyres and think they're really cool

I love it, it sums it up so nicely, no anger, and the poor bloke in the car will sit there wondering whats going on.....
