4 lane road last Sat. Clear. Dry. Moderate traffic in both left lanes and all moving at permitted 60km/h. Me in 2nd lane from left. Nothing in 3rd & 4th lanes. New small car a few behind me pulls out and sits at same speed as rest of traffic in 3rd lane. I promptly go into fresh space in 1st lane and slow down. Unlike the f*ckwit sitting all by herself in the 3rd lane, I and everybody else know the 3rd and 4th lanes are for oncoming traffic, which is probably going to come into sight around the time the dill in the 3rd lane reaches the blind crest we are approaching. I don't want to be there when it happens. Pedestrian lights go red just before the crest and disaster is averted. Don't want to see anyone hurt, especially not the poor bastard coming the other way, but there would have been a certain poetic justice if it had happened.

And why arent Vicroads and all other road bodies making harder to get a licence???

What are you all worried about?

You didn't say they were speeding - so therefore no one would have got hurt.

Only speeding kills and that's why the police enforce it.
